Laundry Leaves are a new eco-friendly laundry detergent sheet. They’re thin and light, smell lovely, and are a sustainable, vegan-friendly alternative to your typical laundry detergent. The founder of Laundry Leaves had some initial branding in place and was keen to promote the new product’s ‘less space, less plastic, less waste’ messaging, so he contacted Birch to help him bring the new product to market and produce suitable packaging fit for the brand.
Laundry Leaves were originally going to produce the packaging in China, however with high shipping/freight costs, time constraints and a lack of control, they decided to source their packaging in the UK.
Using Laundry Leave’s initial branding, our in-house designer created a variety of concepts and artwork to suit the packaging brief.
We introduced a retro feel to the look, which seemed in keeping with the whole ethos. It was almost a juxtaposition between the idea of the leaves and the technology being introduced to create the product. These were illustrated as 3D concepts for approval, so Laundry Leaves could get a clear picture of how these would look.
Once the concepts had been signed off, our team printed a suite of products, which not only included the packaging x 2 sorts, for both instore use and online retail, but also some point of sale display units – a Counter top and FSDU (Free Standing Display Unit) to sit in store. The POS displays and packaging were all produced in the UK and were made from sustainable materials to support the brand’s strong eco-friendly ethos.
To help with the new businesses cashflow, we produced the items in manageable quantities and the final products were bold, beautiful, and consistent across the full suite of items for Laundry Leaves.
The goal was to create packaging that would stand out and grab customer’s attention and we think we achieved this really well. Here is what the founder of Laundry Leaves had to say…
