Luxury, sustainable product packaging
Challenge
Launched in 2022, Mallard Point is a family-run Vineyard and Distillery. Conceived in 2019 after what first existed as a pipedream, Andy and Fi spent 3 years of hard graft compiling ideas for their luxurious range of gins and vintage wines.
Sustainability is the driving force behind the Mallard Point brand and it’s their mission to create products that bring joy with minimal impact on the planet.
After the initial concept was finalised, Birch came on board to partner with Andy and Fi, and bring Mallard Point’s ‘reuse rather than recycle’ packaging ideology to life.
Solution
It’s our mission to present our customer’s brands to the most important people to them, and combined with our sustainably focussed ethos, we felt really aligned and excited to help deliver this project.
One of the most appealing characteristics of the packaging is that both the premium outer box and the inner protective shell are used to return the gin/wine once it has been drunk so it can be refilled. A folding box board is used for the outer box, with a rip strip for ease of opening, and double-sided tape for the return journey. The inner clam shell is printed on both sides of Kraft corrugate board and provides the protection necessary to house the gin and wine.
Brand consistency is vital, especially with the launch of a new, highly awaited product, so rigorous proofing and sampling were completed to ensure everything was spot on, ahead of full production.

Results
With a lot riding on bringing Mallard Point to life through their packaging, Andy and Fi needed to know their project was in safe hands. From our first conversations, Andy and Fi trusted Birch to deliver meticulously presented packaging for their range of luxury beverages.
With Mallard Point being a small family-run business, we completely understood their brief and appreciated how busy they were, so it was an absolute necessity for us to carry out their instructions and communicate openly to deliver a successful project.
