Refreshing Wyse London’s Online Packaging

Challenge

Wyse London are a high-end fashion brand for women with a sense of joie de vivre. Marielle Wyse founded Wyse London after spotting a gap in the market for beautiful cashmere knitwear with a twist. Specialising in women’s clothing made from luxury materials, the Wyse brand has grown into a supportive and stylish community of like-minded women. Whilst Marielle was confident that her customers were delighted with their purchase, she recognised that the packaging for her products could be improved to enhance the full customer experience.

Wyse London’s range of packaging was too plain and lacked the prestige needed to reflect the brand’s luxurious and distinctive style. Whilst the ideal scenario is for customers to love the product and keep it, the reality is that sometimes the size is wrong, or the style does not suit the recipient which means the return of items is commonplace. Marielle wanted her packaging to make the returns process more efficient for customers, whilst also keeping in line with Wyse’s strong eco policy.

Solution

The Birch team worked closely with Wyse to provide a creative solution that would support the brand whilst also creating a sense of luxury through a more bespoke packaging experience.

We wanted to ensure the Wyse brand was suitably infused into their new packaging, so as part of our solution we chose a selection of premium, recyclable packaging in a number of sizes at an affordable price. Instead of using tape to seal the box, the new packaging would allow customers to return the goods more efficiently with a ‘rip-and-seal’ feature. To help support Wyse’s eco credentials, we included the FSC logo on the inside of the box. The box itself was made from corrugated board, using FSC certified paper and therefore 100% recyclable and biodegradable, which was a key factor in the brief. The importance of this was felt so strongly by Wyse that a statement is printed on the inner base of the box, along with the FSC logo.

When the box was opened the brand was immediately visible with the two colour Wyse logo printed on the inside of the lid, along with the branded tissue paper, sealed with a printed logo sticker. In addition, Wyse include a beautifully designed Thank You card, along with a similar themed message on the base of the box to show gratitude to their customers.

For Christmas, Wyse approached us to create a special box to hold their new nightwear. This needed to be premium packaging that still followed eco credentials but could be placed with pride and excitement under the Christmas tree.

To subtly add a further nod to the brand the logo sticker was converted to a matte gold for the Christmas season.

Results

Throughout the project, our team liaised directly with Wyse’s external distribution company, which gave Wyse peace of mind that all aspects of the project from start to finish were being taken care of by our team.

Positive customer feedback has always been at the heart of Wyse’s ambition and the revival of the customer’s packaging journey has generated lots of positive feedback. Since the rollout, Wyse have received some lovely feedback from customers which is an instant win-win.
