The ‘100+ Club award’ recognises staff members who are going above and beyond and meeting their targets. In normal circumstances, this means the winners would receive a trophy and a bottle of champagne, presented personally by the CEO on-stage at the annual conference. Live presentations of internal awards at DPD were impossible in 2020 due to Covid, so they asked us for a ‘wow’ gift that could be delivered direct to the winner.
For the 100+ Club Award, quality was the order of the day. To make the award even more special, we suggested using personalised champagne flutes with the winner’s name on and we also included a small video screen to the inside of the lid to feature a pre-recorded message from a TV personality.
Our team created a video prototype to ensure all the components would fit nicely into the award box. Our next step was to start ordering the box contents. We were presented with a slight logistical challenge in that the award winner names weren’t available until two weeks before despatch. The video screens were coming in from overseas, so we had the new Brexit regulations to contend with.
During the final stages of the project, we had to ensure all the personalised elements matched – the lid, the video, the champagne flutes, the acrylic award, and the shipping label. We then worked with DPD’s depot management team to keep the boxes on hold ready to be released on a certain date between the times of 5pm and 6pm, so that the award coincided with their online zoom-based conference. Based on the positive responses we’ve seen from some of the winners on LinkedIn, we’re pretty sure they were over the moon.Back to case studies
