Do proofs come with a charge at Birch?
Not all proofs come at a cost at Birch. We don’t charge for standard PDF proofs, but Epsom proofs, via a digital press or a ‘WET’ proofs (proofs ran through an actual printing press which requires ink, and plate/screen setup) do come at a cost.
What type of files can you accept?
Whats the best way to supply artwork?
When supplying artwork for brochure or leaflet design, we recommend print ready pdf files or native files (all the files you used to create the artwork with e.g. InDesign file with all the linked images and fonts).
What design programmes do you use?
As a brochure designer, Adobe Creative Suite is our go-to tool for design and processing artwork. We also have access to the latest creative cloud artwork, which means we can easily process InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and pdf files. While we no longer support QuarkXpress, a print ready file can be output from this program.
What information should be on a leaflet?
Crucially, leaflets should be eye-catching and interesting, ensuring they capture your target market’s attention with just a glance. However, for the utmost brand recognition, these marketing tools should also feature your company name, logo, and contact information in an easily visible location.
A persuasive CTA (Call-to-action) and short description of the benefits or features of the products or services you can deliver provide those all-important finishing touches.
What is the difference between a brochure and a leaflet?
Unsure whether leaflets or brochures would be most suitable for your business objectives? The main difference between the two is that leaflets tend to be smaller than brochures. Brochures often feature multiple pages whereas leaflets are typically limited to just one or two sides of paper.
Can you process all files?
We can use a wide variety of file formats here at Birch for leaflet and brochure design, such as pdf, InDesign files (.indd), Illustrator files (.ai) and Photoshop files (.psd), and even Word and Excel files, if desired.
You can make a file print ready by ensuring all the fonts used have been embedded or outlined and that you have included 3mm bleed and crop marks on your pdf. These settings can be easily selection when saving the pdf.
